Stag rut Marul

Work and pleasure – all in good time!

We have enough of the first. To make sure we don’t miss out on the second, we want to explore all 96 municipalities in Vorarlberg.

On Saturday, 05.10.2024, we made our way to Marul, Raggal, at around 15:00 to take part in an excursion on the occasion of the deer rut in the Marul Valley. The “Gemmingen – Wald und Wild” hunting operation gave us a warm welcome.

The program offered exciting insights into the rutting behaviour of the stags and the local hunting operation. The participants were split into different groups to learn more about the tasks of a hunter, the habitat of wild animals, the support provided by hunting dogs and the role of women in the hunting community.

The opportunity to observe the majestic animals in their natural environment was particularly fascinating. The rutting season is characterized by impressive vocalizations, spectacular fights and the courtship of the stags for the favor of the females. These experiences illustrated the beauty and diversity of nature.

At the end of the day, we were treated to fresh venison burgers and drinks in the hunting lodge. Despite the rainy weather, low temperatures and cold draughts, we had a lot of fun spending this day together.
